Data Streams
In the spirit of information sharing, I have created several “data streams” to which readers of this site can subscribe.
What is a data stream?
A data stream is an RSS feed generated from my Dissertation Knowledge Base, the FileMaker database that I use to keep track of my research data.
Which data streams are available?
The following data streams are currently available:
- Quotes (The latest quotes that I have entered into my dissertation research database.)
- Sources (The latest sources and annotations that I have entered into my dissertation research database.)
How do I view a data stream?
There are three ways that you can view a data stream. First, you can just click on the link for one of the data streams above. However, you will notice that what you see is some text surrounded by a bunch of computer code. That’s because RSS feeds are presented in XML, which cannot be read by your browser.
Second, since a browser cannot read XML, you can use an RSS feed reader to propoerly view a data stream. I highly recommend setting up an account with Bloglines, a free, online RSS feed reader that I think is the best.
Third, you can see the latest from each stream right here:
